Game OST
OST stands for Original Soundtrack. Game OSTs are soundtracks originally made for the video game that it is featured in. I have grown to love Game OSTs, and not just of the games that I play, but of any game that interest me.
Here are some of my favourites, though, there is a slight inaccuracy. Not all of the following are original soundtracks. Some are not initially made for a game, but later chosen to be a game's background music.
- Minecraft Volume Alpha, Minecraft
- Minecraft Volume Beta, Minecraft
- Los Santos Rock Radio, Grand Theft Auto V
- Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 (Original Soundtrack), Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2
- A Cup of Liber-tea, Helldivers 2
- Silver For Monsters..., The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt
- The Trail, The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt
- Unity, Assassin's Creed Unity
- Immortal Imperium, Warhammer 40,000: Darktide
- Everday - Netsky Remix, Forza Horizon
A good Game OST really sets the mood for the game, whether that be epic battles (like something by Two Steps from Hell), horror, or simply radio for driving. This is no different to background music for the different scenes in movies. Sometimes intense, sometimes peaceful, and sometimes sombre.
Fun fact: I used to take piano lessons back in Hong Kong. By retaining the ability to read piano music sheets, I am now able to play Subwoofer Lullaby and Dry Hands. Both are composed by the artist C418 as OSTs for Minecraft.
Playing Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 - Main Menu Theme in the background.
(Seems to only work during development...)
